on my way to the city I came across this original autumn drawing. It rains every day, a fine welcome with delicious pancakes at home February 10th World Umbrella Day. The day is a tribute to Samuel Fox. This Briton designed the umbrella as we know it today in 1852.

The artist Vic De Vos of Bonheiden carved the three beautiful signposts with the symbols of Mechelen in 1954. For decades the woodcarvings showed visitors the way to the most beautiful buildings and museums and were featured on tourist posters and postcards.They have withstood all weathers and were in bad shape.
