Carousel Horse

Holyoke, Massachusetts. Formerly at the now-defunct Mountain Park Amusement Park, "as one of fewer than 60 remaining full-size wooden carousels, this classic 1929 Philidelphia Toboggan Company Carousel #80 represents the lost folk art of hand-carved wooden horses. It features 48 horses, 2 chariots, over 800 brilliant lights, and an 'artisan band organ.'" Shot during an expedition with Trailerfullofpix, this is the only photo of mine that worked: carousel at rest. Fun to experiment with carousel in motion, including a dizzying attempt to shoot astride one of the impressive antique steeds, when, of course, my camera batteries ran out of juice, and even my back-ups (installed during purgatorial whirl) were non-functional.
