SSC Bridge: "Steinerne Brücke" (Stone Bridge) Regensburg

With the SSC subject being "Bridge" I could not resist to take pictures of my favorite - only a short distance from my home, the "Steinerne Brücke" Regensburg. With 850 years it is one of the very old bridges crossing a major river (Danube), in Germany it is the oldest (built from 1135 to 1146 in only eleven years!). It was the model for similar bridges in Prague (Charlesbridge), London and Dresden, which were built some years later. It is a real beauty, but for almost eight years by now it is in a state of renovation, as you can see. Right now the first and the last third of the bridge are already finished, only the middle part is still being worked on until (supposedly) the end of this year.
