"James C. Saunders passed away October 7th, 2010, he was 52. He died fighting a grass fire. He died doing what he loved.

"Jim was born in in California in 1958.

"He was a Navy Veteran. He worked as a Firefighter for Sloughhouse Fire, American River Fire and Sacramento Fire Station 101 and 103

"He proudly served for 22 years.

"Jim was on the Board of Directors for American Legion Post 108 Ambulance Service and was Assistant Chief for Jackson Volunteer Fire Department.

"Jim's last selfless act was to donate his organs."
