Travertines at Pamukkale, Turkey

The white is solid rock. Looks like ice! Made from mineral deposits from the hot springs running down the mountainside. Shame these pools haven't been allowed to fill with the spring water. The flow from the springs is now carefully regulated and the hotels which were built at the bottom to take advantage of the hot water have been closed by the Turkish government to preserve this World Heritage Site.
