While Virginia Slims cigarettes brand was telling women of the '70s how far they'd come, this was still not an uncommon pose for wedding pictures in my wife's hometown. As Mary says of this, our least liked wedding photo, "It looks like my father just sold you a used car." The reality, of course, was that I bartered six goats, two camels, a cow and a case of sacred Coors beer for her (I kept the magic beans for myself). The only handshake photo I possess, submitted for "The Handshake" theme in the Vintage Photos Theme Park, 1970.
