The Pilgrim`s Fountain
The effigy of this fountain, carved and re-elaborated in 2015 by the sculptor Renato Corai during the Mediaval Festival in Monteriggioni, is highly original.
It has a direct andy very strong link with the Via Francigena and the pilgrimage.
It is a large scale reproduction of small „signa pellegrinorum“ dating to late 11th century that was found in the territory of Siena (Castle of Miranduolo, Chiusdino).
