Christmas village
Folder: Christmas
Inspired by my Grandmother's large village and using her small metal figures as a foundation, I began setting up a Christmas village each year. Small at first, it has continued to grow in size through the years.

Christmas village at night close-up
A number of metal figures my Grandmother used in her winter village were given to me. I used them to create my own village which has grown in size over the years. A couple of different years, my Grandmother used photos of her village on Christmas cards she made. They can be seen in this set and my Christmas and Greeting card sets..

Christmas village church
This church was created by my Grandmother for a large winter village she put up on her closed-in porch each Christmas. My guess is that it dates from the late 1940's to early 50'. Another photo in this set is of a Christmas card with the village on it. (DSC04799)

Winter village house 3
My Grandmother put a large winter village on her front porch each Christmas. Some of the houses she built herself. This is one of them. It was probably made in the late 1940' or early 50's. She used a lot of scrap material and scotch tape which, unfortunately, has not stood the test of time well. (DSC04802)
