Mollusks and Annelids

This was a surprise. It was dark and the shot was zoomed in from a distance so did not notice the snail until I downloaded the picture and looked at it. Taken in my woods, Etowah County, Alabama.

I rescued this turtle from the middle of the road some distance from the creek. It had this large leech on its shell and about twenty to thirty small ones attached to its legs and body inside the shell. I pulled off as many as I could reach before I put the turtle back in the creek. Etowah County, Alabama
