Description | On the One Broadway Building aka the International Merchantile Marine Company Building aka the United States Lines-Panama Pacific Lines Building. Known as the Washington building when it was built in 1882, the original design by Edward H. Kendall of this 10 story building was in the Queen Anne style. However, in 1919 after it was acquired by the International Merchantile Marine Company (later called the United States Line), it was converted to the Neoclassical style by covering the original brick with a new limestone facade. |
