A Hill of Ants (Flooded Out)

Rising water caused the ants to pile up on the only dry piece of vegetation still above water. Two days later they were still hanging on although the water was lower and they were spread out among debris that had floated in. Taken at the James D. Martin Wildlife Park, a wetland area that is part of the Coosa River watershed, Gadsden, Alabama.
