Michelham Priory, East Sussex

Photos taken on a visit to Michelham Priory near Hailsham, between Lewes and Eastbourne. The Priory dates back to 1229, but most of it was demolished during Henry VIII's dissolution of the catholic monastries. A large manor house was built within the moated grounds. The only substantial medieval building now is the gatehouse. More details can be found at sussexpast.co.uk/properties-to-discover/michelham-priory . It is a lovely place to visit, with beautiful gardens, but it is unfortunately not near any public transport. So I am unlikely to get back there without a lift.
