This appears to be a Morris Commercial MRA1 GS Cargo from about 1952 - but I am sure that someone out there can identify it with more confidence.

N.B. a saltire cross of brown tape has been removed digitally. Presumably it was there to prevent contravention of rules about using the red cross inappropriately. I haven't worked out when the photo was taken - it is a 35mm print scanned.

'Q' registration can mean ex-military - maybe from BAOR as it's left-hand drive.

This may have been at a classic car event at Eastbourne. We were returning from the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society at Brighton at the time. This looks as if it has been rigged with communications equipment in its role with the Regimental Headquarters of the Royal Tank Regiment.

Originally mounted on wooden wheels, by WW2 it had been rebuilt into this configuration. By the end of WW2 it had been superceded by the 5.5in gun.
