Dance Diagonal by Lothar Götz - seen from NW - Tow…
This eye-catching work was commissioned to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Gallery's reopening in this new building.
This view has not had the camera lens distortion removed in Photoshop, unlike some of the other photos in this group.I liked the image as it came out of the camera.
Dance Diagonal by Lothar Götz - SW vertical - Town…
This is a first attempt at depicting the artworks in the Turner Prize 2023 Finalists' exhibition in the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. I shall not be either regurgitating the descriptions/explanations of the four works, which are readily available on-line, or making my own commentary on them. One I really liked and understood, the rest did not appeal to me. I have to say that if these were the best examples of British contemporary art in 2023 I am clearly on totally the wrong page of the 'How to do art' manual.
Jesse Darling Come on England to the right & left…
I don't know which of these two rows of crush barriers was (to the left) and which was (to the right). I calculated that as one came into the gallery, from the doorway visible in the background, the works would relate to your initial view of them. But artists being artists the answer may not be the obvious one. They had been exhibited elsewhere somay have been oriented differently then.

The woman in the white jacket, facing the camera, was discussing Barbara Walker's exhibit with a group of young people. Whether she was a member of the Gallery's curating staff, or a lecturer bringing some of her students to study the exhibits I don't know.
