St. Mary, Battle, stained glass windows
Folder: Stained glass windows
These are some of the windows in the church of Saint Mary, in the Sussex town of Battle, which developed around the Abbey. The abbey was built on the orders of William the Conquerer as a penitential act, to commemorate those who died in the Battle of Hastings and his campaign of conquest in the years after.
There are other windows, whose images were not recorded so clearly.
