Lewes railway station

Lewes railway station is an attractive Victorian station. It is a junction for lines from Brighton, London, Hastings and Seaford. The Hastings line reaches there via Eastbourne and after changing there or Hastings, you can travel on to Rye and Ashford International. There were further routes to Tunbridge Wells and Uckfield. All that remains of those routes is the filled in trackbed running parallel to the current platform 3.
The station's architecture is enhanced by the work of the 'Pots and Plants' volunteer gardening group, making it one of the best decorated stations in the country.
