This appears to be an early element in the regeneration of the Western Docks. It is a very tastefully laid out promenade that sweeps around the edge of the harbour, facing into the harbour and towards the beach, the town and the castle. Currently public access finishes before the end and there is nothing but lamp-standards, seats and waste bins - apart from an excellent ice-cream kiosk and a 'Welcome' booth near the landward end and a couple of other food outlets which were closed when I was there . The new marina which is immediately in front of it, to the left of this view, is also in pristine and virtually unused condition, with only a small Border Force patrol boat, a RNLI lifeboat and the local tour RIB moored there, as can be seen in this snap - www.ipernity.com/doc/philsutters/51308356
The only people on the 'Curve' apart from me were a couple of dog-walkers. I do hope this does not become a 'white elephant' and waste a big chunk of the regeneration fund.
