The Cuming Museum was created around a rather eccentic collection of artefacts collected by the Cuming family in the Victorian era. It was housed in the former Town Hall of the Metropolitan Borough of Southwark. This suffered a catastrophic fire in 2013. Fortunately only part of the collection was in the Museum at the time.
