Britain's only commercial regular passenger hovercraft service runs from Southsea, neighbour of Portsmouth, over to Ryde on the Isle of Wight, just off the south coast of England. There are several parts of the Clarence Pier visible over the top of the craft, but one can see its fairly smooth lines in the adjacent photo of it under way across the Solent.

This ship and M.V. Seven Sisters share duties on this four-hour crossing. One ship works the route at a time, with up to two sailings a day in each direction. I don't know what other routes they work on, when they are not on this route.
