A group of photos of a small area of Peckham in South London, that was commissioned by a friend for an elderly aunt, who used to live there, but had returned to Ireland and who wanted to see what the area looked like in 2006

Peckham Settlement - London SE15

Settlements were charitable organisations with a base in a deprived area, usually providing community facilities, supported by benefactors from more well-off areas or institutions. In this case the Union of Girls' Schools was resourced by a group of fee-paying girls schools. Students from the schools would volunteer to run children's holiday schemes, youth clubs and similar activities. In more recent times the settlements have become community run centres.

This is a genuine landscape! It looks like a film set with aliens marching on a city street, but this is how London looked in 2014!

Apart from the glimpses of red London buses, this view seems to have a French look, to me.

I wondered if any of the hospital staff, from the buildings looking down on the Basin, have found accommodation on board these craft. Given the exorbitant level of rents in central London any options are worth looking at!
No 173 Tower Bridge Road - London 2007-8

Legoland or London?! These photos were taken at different times, with the sun coming from different angles, hence the difference in shades between the two.
I have assumed that the whole building is no. 173. The sushi bar round the other side certainly is and I have seen reference to 'unit 2' being a flat/apartment in 173.
