Chicory - a laggard stem with more flower than most -Seaford 13 7 2023

Most of the chicory plants in this field have one or two flowers left on each stem, but this one has more, although it may actually be two or more stems intertwined. Anyway it made a welcome group of flowers. This is the second year I have missed the main event, with the plants in full bloom. We only go past it occasionally. Next year maybe I shall have to go up there more frequently from the end of June.
