The South Downs, in Sussex have long sweeping slopes. I grew up in Somerset where the hills are far more up and down, with rivers in narrow valleys. The rivers near us run through shallow wide chalky valleys.
The heap in the front looks a bit like the remains of a hay stack fire. The view was photographed with a telephoto lens, so I was a long way from it and cannot be sure whether that is the case.
