The presentation is made in Adobe Photoshop Elements. It is not done in ipernity. I create an empty background, the same size as a standard digital camera image - my Canon Eos 700D takes jpegs that are 5184 pixels x 3456 pixels. I then open a picture file and copy the area I want to add to the empty background. I place that in position and then type the text, using a suitable font or type-face. The text, the picture and the background are then combined and that is what it uploaded to ipernity.
I have not used any of the free photo-processing softwares, like MS Paint, but I expect that you should be able to add captions using one of them. I think that some of the smart-phones can add captions to photos taken on them. Any software that uses 'layers' should enable you to add text anywhere on your picture.
I hope this helps to explain how I add captions. I also hope that your translator gives you a good translation of my words.
