Thanks Nora. I think that this was one of very few flowers in the park that year. The life-sized concrete dinosaurs had been refurbished and given a new habitat with tree ferns and other ancient looking plants, but it was all very new with a lot of bare soil. There were just a few clusters of flowering plants and this was one of them. Most of the park is open grass and trees. It's not a very flowery park. Mind you I haven't been there since we moved out of London five years ago, so it could have become flowerier.
Anyway I am glad you liked it.
I have now found a photo which shows the dinosaurs - but also a nice array of irises - so perhaps there were more flowers than I remembered! www.ipernity.com/doc/364457/26315087
