Got into the village fairly early for a quick look round followed by a walk up to Latterbarrow and through the forest.
On my return, the number of tourists had increased substantially, so it was onto the bus and off to Ambleside, Rydal and Grasmere (which had crowds of its own)

Formerly known as
William Wordsworth was a pupil at the Grammar School in Hawkshead and lodged in this street
Hawkshead rooves
The churchyard is higher than the rest of the village, so you get a bit of a view.
I'm not sure on current grammar, so I've tagged both possible plurals

I was in Hawkshead early enough to grab a quick picture without tourists (a rarity here)
Hawkshead Church
St. Michael and All Angels church . Dating from the 12th century, but enlarged over the years.
