Glen Coe & Rannoch Moor
Folder: Scotland
A selection of pictures from spots along the A82
Achnambeithach Cottage
A holiday cottage which was the subject of a couple of painters when I passed by
Loch Achtriochtan
Almost adjacent to Achnambeithach Cottage
Pass of Glencoe
The A82 passing by Stob nan Cabar (on the left) heading towards Fort William
Beinn a' Chrulaiste
This mountain is a "Munro" (over 3000ft / 914m), seen from the approach to Glencoe Mountain Resort.
Black Rock Cottage
A standard highlands photo opportunity - I was alerted by the presence of a small group of Irish photographers
Lochan na h-Achlaise
In the heart of desolate Rannoch Moor, but conveniently adjacent to a parking spot on the A82.
Rainbow over Rannoch Moor
The climate lends itself to frequent rainbows. This scene would have been visible to cyclists on the cross-Britain Cycle Ride (assuming they still had the energy to take in their surroundings after 5 days on the road)
