I have raccoons that do things like this as well, but they exhibit a more destructive behavior that I don't like. One raccoon broke through my roof, somehow, climbed down a stud into my pantry and proceeded to claw open and destroy food in my pantry. Which he decided he didn't like and didn't eat it. So it was wasted and I couldn't use it.

Another one broke through a window and entered my pantry and decided to destroy more food, which he didn't eat and therefore it was wasted.

And the latest event was a raccoon broke into my pantry and I can't even find where he's getting in at. But that one ruined more of my food which he didn't eat as well.

Between all these unwanted visitors into my pantry, they have destroyed (and not eaten, but wasted) two big containers of oats, two bottles of chocolate syrup, a can of bouillon cubes, a whole big can of shortening, a gallon jar of pickles, a can of powdered chocolate drink mix, and various other things. I bought this food for ME to eat, not unwelcomed intruders.

And I live in the city limits. Stay out in the country where you belong, raccoons.

You might say that I'm not overly fond of these "visitors."

WHAT WE HAVE TO REMEMBER
IS WE HAVE PUSHED THEM FROM THEIR LAND !!!!!

WE ARE ON THEIR LAND

YES THEY CAN BE DESTRUCTIVE...

BUT HUMANS ARE A MILLION TIMES MORE DESTRUCTIVE !

I APPRECIATE YOU HAVE A PROBLEM ONE THERE. O LIVE IN DEEP RURAL COUNTRYSIDE

THE HARDEST CREATURES TO STOMACH ARE THE FEW DESTRUCTIVE HUMANS

AND THOSE INHUMAN SLIME WHO DUMP DEFENSELESS ANIMALS OUT HERE.

THATS HOW I HAVE 3 DOGS AND 7 CATS . I WON TREASURE THEY SERVE NOTHING

FOR MY BELOVED DOGS AND CATS I AM THANKFUL.. AND WISH VERY BAD KARMA ON THE SLIME WHO DUMPED THEM

SO BOTTOM LINE IS I SUGGEST YOU CONTACT YOUR LOCAL WILDLIFE OFFICER AND THEY WILL OFTEN R TRAP AND RE-HOME NUISANCE ANIMALS

Thanks for that advice - animal control officers have already removed about a dozen of them, but more just keep coming. And, like you, I believe it's because we have ruined their natural habitat as to why they're invading our space now. Thanks!
