IMG 9774-001-Washing Line Finial

Sidney Estate (social housing), opened in 1938 in Somers Town. The decorative ceramics are by sculptor Gilbert Bayes. The lunettes above balconies are made of Doulton stoneware and depict scenes from fairy tales. The finials on the top of washing line poles (also Doulton stoneware) are sailing ships.
