Dancer with Ribbon

This building is the Plaza Shopping Centre, 120 Oxford Street, which was originally built for the department store Bourne and Hollingsworth in 1925 by Slater and Moberly architects. It ceased to be a department store in 1983 and underwent refurbishment in the mid 1990s. This sculpture, called "Dancer with Ribbon" and installed in 1997, is by Michael Rizzello (1926-2004), a London artist of Italian descent. The prima ballerina Darcy Bussell was his inspiration.
