What comes to polaroid sun glasses, then there of course are several problems like reflections, most of the time dirty lenses, and troubles to hold them in right position on front of the lens. On modern digital camera it is not a so big problem because one can see the effect on display. But with analog camera it is not possible.
If one already have a tripod! =D
Clouds and/or something on foreground gets more attention on vertical compositions. And I would still call them as landscape shots.
But even as a "negative space" sky or foreground can give "space to breath" on such composition, and turn out much more interesting than a horizontal composition.
