I like the two small fences very much - and the line the lower one draws through the picture. In the end, the "Gradierwerk" itself is a fence, too. A huge one!
I know these only from pictures and documentary film, never saw one in reality.
I like the top one best, that one with the doorway is original - and as a gardener I wonder where they get all the blackthorn from???

Another Sunday, another week went away, not entirely bad but again without sun / light warranting going out to shoot photos... How it was at yours? Any better?

Well, blackthorns are very common in Poland.

They are literately everywhere, so it is not a big problem to secure some source and delivery.

Too warm, too wet, too grey until yesterday when we got a little snow and some frost. Hardly any sun. But, excuse me, it isn't a mid-winter-weather at all, having two frosty nights (-4°C) and +°C-days again. :-(
We havn't a lot of blackthorn here around, could be it is too hot and too dry for them in summer. At my old home in southern Germany I found them more often, and I am sure in the western parts of Austria they will be, too.
I remembered also, that blackthorn behaves like weed - it grows after cutting down again and again, which can develop to problems for farmers on some meadows and fields. I am fairly sure the bushes will be grown again (and again) by the time the sticks at graduation walls need renewal.
