W-hour (16)

This little series is just my humble effort to document how our community of Sulejówek celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising (the Youtube video refers to it).
I am not much of a photo-reporter, of course, but I am considering submitting the series to our local mayor office, so your praise comes at the right moment for me to make the decision :)

Such memories must remain noted.

This beautiful lady is 87 years old. During the war she was a scout liaison and then in 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising she worked at the main post office of Warsaw insurgents.
Her testimony is available at the website of the Oral History Archives.

It is a pity that these interviews are not being translated into English and other languages, but there is not enough money allocated to the project and the interviews are done by volunteers supporting the Warsaw Rising Museum.
They do a great job though. I happened to see their work in progress when they interviewed my mother (she was 15 when she was wounded and almost killed during the Uprising).
