I cannot judge if you were right or wrong when it comes to how romantic this scene may appear to other viewer.

people were wearing sleeveless tops and shorts (checked on other pictures) so it must have been rather warm, and the fog more like a steam bath. it has been over 10 years ago, though, so you must rely on my memory only

and I further remember that the weather was overcast with the occasional glimpse of the sun, and the fog persistent, which then served for "better" subjects compared to usual "touristy" shots ;-D which in turn could be called lucky ;-D
