The military base was closed down 2008. It is now in the process of being assimilated by University of Wuerzburg. The old campus has spread across the street and makes use of a great deal of the former US territory. But there's still a large mass of unused land, not accessible to the public (yet). You'll find some links on this set's entry page. University of Wuerzburg has taken over. Most of the old military base area is now part of the new campus.
