Interesting indeed. I'd have thought trolleybuses too. Like you, I do wonder why they disappeared.

Mit dem Oberleitungsbus in Harburg bin ich gefahren. 1954 ~ 1965 haben wir dort gewohnt.

In Salzburg fahren alle Busse seit jeher mit Oberleitungen. Wenn man das sieht, hat man immer Bedenken, dass sich der Abnehmer fängt.

Das gab es in Hamburg auch, hat man aber vor 50 oder so Jahren aufgegeben. Warum hab ich nie verstanden. Aber Hamburg hat damals dummerweise auch sein gutes Straßenbahnnetz abgebaut. Heute hätte man es gerne wieder und schaut neidisch auf andere Städte
