The panorama of 1950 has been stitched from 6 old prints, taken by my dad mid April 1950, shortly after the tower had been opended to the public again. The rubble from the allied bombing raids of 1943 to 1945 has been cleared already but 70% of the buildings of the city are still in ruins.

The panorama of 2014 has been taken on April 11th, it shows a booming city with all scars from the war removed and all the gaps finally closed. However, one of the two big Bunkers still stands unimpressed ...

Klasse gemacht Lutz und toll, dass du noch die alten Fotos aufgetrieben hast und diese sogar noch ein Pano hergegeben haben...
Da kann man gut sehen, welche Entwicklung so eine Stadt mitmacht.

Macht richtig Spaß, durch deine Aufnahme zu wandern und die Geschichte Hamburgs ab 1950 zu sehen. Die Lücken durch die alliierten Bombenangriffe sind sehr, sehr groß.

JA Uwe, die letzten Lücken sind auch erst so vor 10 Jahrengeschlossen worden. Für mich war diese Trümmerlandschaft damals normal, aber für meine Eltern muss das furchtbar gewesen sein. Vg, Lutz

Finally had time to check these through in full size (not just full screen but the original size)! Plenty of interesting details to see. For example I didn't know there were those big bunkers also in Hamburg. I thought they were built in Berlin only.

The big one, which is still there was the combat bunker equipped with heavy gunnery. The smaller one, which has been demolished in the fifties was the fire control bunker. The bis one resisted all attempts of demolishion.

Gern Frank, ja, auch schon damals KultClub. Und auch die Lokalderbys immer ein Event, bis 1963 gabs das ja auch 2 x im Jahr (Oberliga Nord)
