Ja, das ist ja einer der Klassiker in HH. Freu mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch im April. Da treff ich dann auch wieder unsere Freunde.

Thanks Ron, Actually the building with the clocktower and the cupolas is basically the equivalent to San Francisco's Ferry Terminal. It has been completed 1906 and survived the bombing raids of WW2. The stand alone building with the dark cupola is the entrance to the old tunnel under the river Elbe completed in 1911. You will find a photo of the tunnel as well as a Panorama of the area from 1950 in my album "Hamburg ..."
