As a logo can't it have been made from a font ?
Do you mean it was originally designed from a font and almost not touching it ?

did you look on websites which can decipher a pixel capture and propose close fonts ? like What the Font I assume ? www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont

I did today, and used: www.fontsquirrel.com

Our logo is beautiful,very simple,neat...and modern,change there is not needed,me and Sami are searching for same font not to change the logo but to even preserve it even more by using it on offical threads or on banners etc.
Shades on font uses Ford,old Yahoo,old Netflix,Pez and Drudge report.

with rounded extremities & without the slice.

The letter y is the challenge =( Can't find a match for that.

It's very common, not simply to use a regular type font for a logo, but to alterate it individually for that special purpose. Therefore it's quite normal, that we can't find a type font which matches 100%. Above all it isn't necessary. Minor changes of the logo are acceptable as long as the continuity is preserved and expressed.
