Did you know that there are different sizes of thimbles, just like there are different sizes of shoes!
Feet and fingers are made in such a way that they need the right equipment...

Yes, of course. And I once had a trouble to find a thimble big enough =D

All too often they are made for people with smaller fingers.

Although, there are also sailmakers palms.

It is much safer to use than thimble, and allows to use more force required when sewing thick sail fabrics. With leather one needs even more extreme tools:
