Denio collection), by 1936, to 1942; with Julius Weitzner, New York [Schoeneman Gallery, New York]; with Schneider-Gabriel Galleries, New York; sold to Carroll S. Tyson, Jr. (1878-1956), and Mrs. Carroll S. Tyson, Philadelphia, December 30, 1943; bequest to PMA, 1963. 1. In a 1901 letter to Gauguin, Fayet wrote that he owned "three first-rate Cézannes." The Bay of L'Estaque was among them. It may appear in the March 10, 1902 sale of Fayet's collection at the Hôtel Drouot. 2. Exhibited as part of the Pacquement collection in 1924, "Première Exposition de collectionneurs," Paris, no. 183.
