The helmet is an Italic version of the Corinthian type, with two holes in the top for a crest and a ridge dividing the upper part from the lower. There is an ancient repair over the left eye-hole. The top contains two holes to attach the crest, now missing. There are two similar holes off center at the right rear. Helmet has been cleaned electrolytically.

By date unknown: said to have been found near Bologna with objects 61.376, 61.377, 61.378, and 61.379; by 1960: with Münzen und Medaillen A.G., Malzgasse 25, Basel, Switzerland; purchased by MFA from Münzen und Medaillen A.G., May 10, 1961
