That's a lovely coincidence, seeing those two such similar beetles and on similar plants.
Is that a recognised host for them?

Yes, these foliage feeding beetles are usually found on Callitris, but are not specifically associated with any particular Callitris species; and the larvae are borers in the same. There is also a third species in SA which I am yet to encounter. Callitris are the only native members of the Cupressaceae family in SA, but Diadoxus are also able to breed in, and feed on introduced Cypresses, particularly the widely planted Cupressus macrocarpa (Monterey Cypress).
