I am a huge fan of these pretty little wonders. I love how they bloom in multiple colours. and how each little flower starts out looking like a tiny little pillow.

Hardy hibiscus on white (2013)

These gigantic flowers are so wonderful! They are hardy enough to overwinter in my garden and treat me to an exotic profusion of dinner plate sized beauties every August. This year they lasted a little longer than usual.

birthday begonia

perhaps I should be a little ashamed to say that i stole a snippet of this delicate beauty out of a flower pot in front of a grocery store... it was sweet enough to bloom for me on my birthday even though it doesn't have roots yet.

mandevilla

this is another "rescue plant", i gave it a new pot and a new home at my mom's. it has continued to bloom throughout the process and will be overwintered indoors so it can be enjoyed again next summer.

Bright begonias

After early summer torrential rains which did their best to drown them, followed by a hellish heat wave which sought to bake them to a crisp, these lovelies finally enjoyed a revival in the cooler days of September and some very summer-like daytime temps in October. these colours are SOOC, they really looked like they were shining out of the relative darkness of the coleus.
