Polar light march 2015
Folder: Polar light
M97 and M108 embedded in polar light
The left picture was taken during a period of polar light activity of which I was not aware at that time.
The PiP shows a picture of M51, taken in the same night.
Canon attached to 750 mm telescope, pictures taken in Oberlangen
M108 (on top) is a galaxy and M97 is a planetary nebula in "our" galaxy

M51 embedded in polar light (17-03-2015)
Reprocessed pictures (three) taken on 17-03-2015. I am now convinced that the reddish background in part of the pictures is in fact caused by the polar light. At that time I didn't realize it was visible in large parts of northern Europe
Total exposure 3x60 seconds with ISO 3200
