Radio Kootwijk

Radio station build in the 1920 to have a radiowave connection between The Netherlands and what is now called Indonesia (a former dutch colonie) The start of dutch radioastronomy was here. With a Würzburg Radarstation from the 2. Worldwar a group of scientists around Oort began observing the hydrogen in our galaxy. I first heard about it when the telescopes moved to Dwingeloo in 1956.
