Cross Processed Film

Traditionally cross processing meant simply processing a film with the wrong process. Eg, an E-6 process with C-41 chems or some such thing.
I think laterly, and I stand to be corrected on this, it is used of any film that has been processed outside the intended process for that film. I have a fridge full of Portra and other Kodak films that I have developed in BW chemicals, or Caffenol. 120 film processing is expensive and I used all these expired films as part as my learning path.
