Ich hoffe, der Stab ist gut befestigt. Ein Scharlatan könnte den Stab im Sand verdrehen! :-)

Ha, ha.........it's well fixed in concrete (in a bucket - so it can be carried inside at night).

Hmmm, I think I'll go to the toilet, first, then to the beach shop for some shopping. Looks like fun!

Sounds like a plan.......not much shopping to be had though, unless you're into buckets and spades etc.

I never knew the origin of the beach name. Did you come across it, Keith?

According to the Fowey Harbour Heritage Society the name derives from the Cornish word ‘roswyd basdowr’, translated to ‘redeman’ meaning a shallow ford of stones.

You're welcome :-)

The Saints Way sounds very appealing. ;-)

It does. it's a 27 mile route going between Fowey and Padstow. It follows the probable route of early Christian travellers making their way from Ireland and Wales to Brittany or Santiago de Compostella in Galicia, Spain.

Info from the Visit Cornwall website.
