Five and twenty gold birds


I *think* there are 25 goldfinches here in this picture. Probably harder to tell in b&w as here. But I like the b&w version of this shot better than the colour one, greyblue-tainted as that is by thick clouds this morning.
It is just about two-thirds the way through February and I have yet to see even a single raspberry finch in our yard (that is, "purple finch" in most people's speech). Yet, we've had goldfinches all winter and we had a cloud of them this morning. Like here.
