Taking leave of my presence
Looking into the heart of a juniper
Maybe tomorrow
And into the ground
The warblers have arrived
Yellowhammer
Two ducks
Virginia in 1956 and sixty years later
Funeral
Early bird in the cove
Whiskyjack
Salt not long unloaded from the bulk carrier
David in the evening light
The Arches
Lunch at the apple blossom
Smoky Moon
Apple with warbler
Western Brook Pond
Mourning cloak butterfly tucking in
Young starling
Parent feeding one of the kids
Scying
Some cat
Preening between songs
Decorated tea strainer
Spring is lungwort
Kid with toy
Following the recipe (wherever it goes)
New signage
Juniperporn
Squill's up!
Not my great-grandmother's Christmas cactus
Surely it is spring
Wrapt plants, wrapt boxes
After breakfast
Breakfast visitor
Café
Suspended vegetation
Siblings
Scowls anew
Dark day
Passing for Spring
Fifty-seven years old
Bold but wary, at least for the time being
Leaning into the sun

Bog myrtle

Bog myrtle, Myrica gale, is good for nothing but good looks. But folklore has it that the Norse used it for hallucinogenic pleasure. They didn't know what is known now -- that the compounds that get you off are also carcinogenic. Not worth the buzz.
