It doesn't last long

This afternoon may have been the peak day this year for autumnal colour in the woods around St John's. It doesn't last long before the leaves start tumbling down.
This is probably our favourite walking path. It's a disused dirt road that runs parallel to a busy highway, in earshot of it but only rarely in sight of it.
Today was a mix of misty fog and bright sun. On our five-km walk we did not pass a single other person. Very pleasant.
